Rose Basket Cake & Other Goodies

I just got done decorating this devil's food cake....I had the Pink  Strawberry Pillsbury Frosting  in the middle of the cake and the roses done and underestimated how much I would need. Making Buttercream Roses~

So, I tried to make Buttercream Roses a few weeks ago. It should be easy, I watched all the Great tutorials on youtube right ? Well, first of all I used store bought frosting!! I guess the important thing is to get your frosting stiff enough to stand up on a "flower nail", by adding enough powdered sugar......

So, off to classes soon, for me,so that my roses on cakes will never turn out like These on "Cakewrecks"

For The Love of "Sweetopia"

I Love "Sweetopia", they are having a "Giveaway" on Facebook that is too cute not to post.

What's not to love about these cute coffee mugs ?? Kinda goes with my blog, don't you think ? LOL....

I have a half frosted "Rose Cake" trimmed with Pearls that I will be posting soon. I used Pillsbury Frosting in Strawberry, ran out, so I will have to get another container, thinking it would taste a little odd to have buttercream frosting in the mix.....so stay tuned :O)

Petite Fours & French Macarons

So, I think after St. Patrick's Day, the next thing I want to try is Petite Fours....
I found a really great tutorial HERE

I didn't know that Petite Fours could be round , I guess I have always seen them in
fancy catalogs as squares.... These little hats would be fun too ~ http://fraichegifts.com/petite-four-hats.aspx
Easter is coming up.....

Do you have any tips or tricks for making Petite Fours ?

Another thing that might be fun to try are French Macarons, not macaroons with coconut, but
Macarons. Here's one recipe from Martha Stewart...

I Love that they are so colorful...... I found this Great Picture @ Snackish .....

To see the complete History of French Macrons, Check Out the Wikepedia....

Have a Great Wednesday :O)
